When Access Changes
What a time. Silence creates gravity. Distance creates curiosity. Scarcity creates value.
This past week was about getting back into that complete focus mode. The purpose of this journey for me is to remain looking forward. I noticed when my access changed, people changed with it. The moment you look within and work on building yourself, a lot of distractions can show up—and that's the critical point of how far you can go and how much you can accomplish.
Since the beginning of this year, my availability has changed dramatically, and it's refreshing in many ways. As a consultant, I spend a lot of time helping others, and that becomes the normal conversation after a while where I'm not even asked how I'm doing. Or people mask that and immediately go into asking for something. It's a blessing to have that trust and knowledge, but I wonder if people put in effort to figure things out sometimes. The best thing I learned was setting boundaries using different frameworks within conversations, and it helped a lot in my growth.
I'm thankful to have peace of mind and balance now. As I get older, it's easier to weed through the fluff in the world and redirect where I'm looking to sustain my faith by giving it all to God to work itself out. To this day, my circle and I continue to send books and scriptures to each other with words of encouragement. It's a good feeling to know you're passing along wisdom and guidance to those that matter—they can see it from their own point of view and learn at their own pace. When you do that, you realize every resource you need is available and at your fingertips instead of seeking out. What you assume within, manifests without. The external world simply reflects the state you dwell in.
That's all I had for today. Everyone stay safe in that snowstorm weather. Might be a good time to relax and reflect. Until next time….
